1. Purpose and Scope
Talos Title ("Talos," "we," "us") provides an AI-assisted platform that supports title professionals in searching and examining property records. Our website is https://talostitle.com and our application is available at https://app.talostitle.com.
This Privacy Policy describes how Talos handles information relating to visitors to our website, people who contact us, and authorized users of the Talos application. Talos is a business-to-business service and is not intended for consumers or for personal, family, or household use.
2. Information We Collect
Talos collects only the information needed to provide, secure, and support the service.
Website and contact information. When you visit our website, request a demo, or contact us, we may collect your name, business email, company, any information you choose to provide, and standard technical data such as IP address and browser type, along with cookie data described in Section 7.
Account information. When an authorized user accesses the Talos application, we process account credentials and profile information needed to provide and secure the service.
Service data. In delivering the service, Talos processes property and title records sourced from public records — for example, recorded deeds, mortgages, liens, and related instruments — together with data our customers retrieve or upload in connection with a title search or examination.
3. Public-Record Data
The property and title data processed in the Talos service consists of publicly recorded information. It may include personal details such as names and property addresses, but those details are already part of the public record. The Talos service is not designed or intended to collect or process non-public personal financial information, credit reports, or consumer reports.
4. How We Use Information
Talos uses information to provide, operate, secure, and improve the Talos platform; to respond to inquiries, schedule demos, and communicate about the service; to process payments through our payment processor; and to meet legal, contractual, and recordkeeping obligations.
Talos does not sell personal information and does not use the data we process on a customer's behalf for advertising.
5. AI-Assisted Processing
The Talos platform uses artificial intelligence to assist with tasks such as data extraction and summarization of title records. AI is used to help title professionals reduce manual effort and improve consistency — to support, not replace, human review.
6. Service Providers
Talos shares information with a limited set of service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, to provide their services to us. These include cloud hosting and infrastructure, AI document-processing and language-model services, and payment processing. Our payment processor collects and processes payment-card data directly; Talos does not store full card numbers. Our website also uses analytics and advertising services, described in Section 7.
Talos may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our agreements, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Talos, our customers, or others.
7. Cookies and Analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for basic functionality, to remember your preferences, to measure site usage, and for advertising, including Google Analytics and the LinkedIn Insight Tag. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect site functionality. Where required, we present a consent choice and honor your selection.
8. Data Retention
Talos retains information only for as long as needed to support business, customer, contractual, legal, security, or compliance requirements, in line with our internal retention schedules. Customer work product is retained in accordance with our customer agreements. Information is securely deleted, destroyed, or anonymized when it is no longer required.
9. How We Protect Information
Talos maintains an information security program with administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we handle. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but Talos works to protect information consistent with industry practice.
10. Where Data Is Stored
Talos stores and processes data in the United States. If you access the website or service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States.
11. Your Choices and Rights
If you have an account with us or have contacted us, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, subject to information we must retain for legal, security, or contractual reasons. To make a request, contact us using the details in Section 14.
Because the property and title data in the service originates from public records and is processed on behalf of our customers, requests concerning the underlying records may need to be directed to the originating public-records source or to the relevant customer.
12. Children and Consumer Use
The Talos website and service are provided for business and professional use by title professionals and their organizations. They are not directed to children or consumers, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the version and date shown at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
